Disrespect is harmful to all of us - The Bully. The Target. And the Bystander.

It creates self-doubt, guilt and over-confidence, all of which can seriously affect our lives for years to come.

For targets, perpetrators and bystanders alike, the lessons of disrespect may be learned as early as preschool. Left unchecked, these habits can lead to unproductive, violent and even unlawful conduct in schools, communities and the workplace.

Our vision is to create communities of respect across Connecticut to provide safe environments for all our children to learn and grow.

Thank you for visiting the Operation Respect CT web site. We are currently not offering educational programming, as we undergo some exciting changes.

Please check back in the near future for information on our new plans and programs.

And remember: Shared Respect is Everyone's Responsibility. Join us in creating climates of respect in our communities whenever and wherever we are.

FOUNDING PARTNERS

Operation Respect CT is a co-sponsor of the "Don't Laugh at Me" initiative, which was founded by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary, together with the Connecticut Department of Education, the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut and People's Bank. This is a multi-media curriculum, which concentrates on recognizing intolerance, increasing acceptance and enhancing sensitivity to students' emotional needs.
