FAQs
Thank you for visiting the Operation Respect CT web site. We are currently not offering educational programming, as we undergo some exciting changes.

Please check back in the near future for information on our new plans and programs.

And remember: Shared Respect is Everyone's Responsibility. Join us in creating climates of respect in our communities whenever and wherever we are.

What is Operation Respect CT?

Operation Respect CT, a 501c3 non-profit organization established in 2001, is dedicated to improving the atmosphere for learning in Connecticut schools by replacing ridicule, bullying and violence with respect and compassion. The organization collaborates with schools, parents, boards of education and community-based youth service organizations to provide educators the opportunities and support to improve their skills at dealing with these issues.
Operation Respect CT is committed to developing strategic, long-term solutions to youth violence throughout the state.

How is Operation Respect CT related to the "Don’t Laugh at Me" and "Respect Me!" initiatives?

Operation Respect CT sponsors the "Don’t Laugh at Me" initiative, founded by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary. "Don’t Laugh at Me" is a multi-media curriculum that concentrates on recognizing intolerance, increasing acceptance and enhancing sensitivity to students’ emotional needs. Operation Respect CT also co-sponsors the "Respect Me!" initiative.

Are Operation Respect CT training sessions open to anyone? How can I register for a training session?

Operation Respect CT works with educators, other school staff and volunteers, parents and community organization staff by providing the 2-day initial workshop on ways to address the problems of bullying, ridiculing, teasing and harassing that occur so often in today’s schools. The 2-day workshops are free. See Professional Development for scheduals and registration.
